Enabling comments on your SmugMug site allow visitors to have a discussion with you and each other. When you activate comments on a photo or a gallery, you eventually encourage engagement on your photos and galleries. Here's a guide on how to enable visitors to leave comments on your SmugMug photos.

Manage Comments on SmugMug

You can not only allow your visitors to comment on your photos but also receive notifications.

  • Allow Comments:

    • Go to the 'Gallery Settings' in the organizer.
    • Under 'Social' tab, turn the 'Allow Comments' option 'ON'.

  • Moderate Comments:

    • You can 'Approve' or 'Delete' comments before they appear publicly on your site.
    • To enable this feature, go to your 'Account Settings'.
    • Under 'Stats' section, navigate 'Comments'.
    • Click 'Details' to see the 'Approve' and 'Delete' options.

  • Receive Notifications:

    • If you want to receive notification of the comments, go to 'Account Settings'.
    • Tap 'Me' and toggle the 'Be notified of new comments via email' section 'ON'.
    • Every time a visitor leaves a comments on your photo, you'll receive an email.

A visitor must log in with SmugMug account, Facebook, or Google+ to leave a comment. This helps you protect your site from spammers. Your visitors can also star-rate your photo with the five stars outlined below the comment box.
