Want to share your SmugMug photos privately with the people of your choice? To keep your SmugMug galleries inaccessible to other casual visitors on your site, basic account holders will need to upgrade and avail the feature. You can now share your SmugMug photos privately with only people you choose from SmugMug Power and SmugMug Up accounts. Here's how SmugMug Power & Up users can use this feature.

Share SmugMug Photos Privately

  1. First of all, log in to your SmugMug account to enable private sharing for a gallery.
  2. Go to the gallery you want to share privately, in the header toolbar, click 'Customize' to open 'Gallery Settings'.
  3. You can change your gallery's settings from within the Organizer.
  4. Select the gallery, folder, or page you want to share privately and click 'Settings' in the Organizer toolbar.
  5. In the 'Gallery Setting', go to the 'Security & Sharing' tab.
  6. You'll see the 'Access' field, click the drop-down menu to select 'People I Choose'.
  7. Once you select 'People I Choose,' a new box will appear as 'Invite People'
  8. Here, enter the email addresses of anyone you would like to invite to view your photos.
  9. If you're entering several addresses at once, separate them with commas.
  10. After entering all the email addresses of people you want to share with, click 'Save'.
  11. Soon a pop-up notice appears 'Invitation Emails Sent'  letting you know the completion of the task.

Currently, you can invite up to 200 people to privately view each gallery, folder, or page. So, go ahead, sent the invitations and let your friends and family about your amazing photographs.
