Apple Photos is an editing application which is easy to use and more robust than iPhoto. It has a 'One-click' enhance button which is used to make subtle adjustments to pictures automatically. To backup photos from Apple Photos app to SmugMug, export the photos from Apple Photos app to your Mac and then upload them to your SmugMug account. Follow the steps given below.

Backup Photos from Apple Photos App to SmugMug

  1. Create a folder on your desktop.
  2. Open "Photos" app on your Mac.
  3. Select the photos which you want to backup.
  4. Click "File" menu.
  5. Select "Export" option.
  6. You will see two options i.e. "Export Photo" and "Export Unmodified Original".
  7. Select "Export Photo" option.
  8. A pop-up window opens up.
  9. Select file format in photo kind i.e JPEG, TIFF, PNG.
  10. Enter the file name and subfolder format.
  11. Click "Export" button.
  12. Choose destination folder i.e the newly created folder on your desktop.
  13. Click "Export" button.
  14. Your photos will now be exported to Mac.
  15. Go to & sign into your account.
  16. Click "Upload" button located at the top-left corner of the window.
  17. Select "To New Gallery" option to create a new gallery.
  18. A "New Gallery" window opens up.
  19. Enter gallery name, description, privacy level & click "Enter" button.
  20. A "Upload to" window opens up.
  21. Browse & select the photos to upload.
  22. Click "Open" button.
  23. You will get a message that "Upload complete".
  24. If you want to upload more photos, then click "Click to Browse" button.
  25. Click "Done" button.
  26. This way you can upload photos from Apple Photos app to SmugMug on Mac.
